Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Display & Design:
As expected the display of the Note series continues to grow. Galaxy Note 3 has a stunning 5.7 inches 1080p high-definition display which uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology with a pixel density of 388ppi. The display is bigger but the device is thinner and lighter than its predecessor measuring 8.3mm and weighing 168 g. The display use extra digitizer for detecting the S-PEN which is a defining feature of the Note series.  It can’t be used with one hand but it can be grabbed single handed. The body is made of plastic which doesn’t feel premium. Galaxy Note 3 has slimmer bezels and has metallic strip around the sides. The device would offer Jet Black, Blush Pink and Classic White colors. The back is removable under which the gigantic 3,200 mAh battery is located.

Processing & Capturing:
There will be two versions of the device. The LTE variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is stuffed with an Adreno 330 GPU and a Quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at astonishing 2.3GHz, while the 3G variant has 1.9GHz Quad-core Cortex A-15 and a 1.3GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7 processor. The highlight is the world’s fastest Snapdragon 800 chipset and staggering 3 gigs worth of RAM which makes the multi-tasking features very easy. Talking about the camera the 13MP sensor on the LTE model offers 4K video recording (2160p recording at 30fps and 1080p recording at 60fps) with an LED flash. But there is no 4K recording on the 3G variant. Other camera goodies include dual shot, image stabilization, Panorama and HDR mode. The 2MP front cam also offers 1080p recording which helps you make vivid face calls.

Software & Storage:
Galaxy Note 3 is running on the latest Android version Jellybean 4.3 out of the box. The S-PEN which is a defining feature of the Note series is enhanced in this device. Most of the apps supports S-PEN and offers more options. As we all know Android 4.3 offers multi-tasking but with the Galaxy Note 3 it became even easier. The screen is divided into 2 parts in order to multi-task and you can run two apps at a time. So definitely the Multi-tasking is enhanced to some extent. There are some editing apps for the camera. Extra goodies include IR Blaster, Air view, Multi-Window. Galaxy Note 3 comes with two storage options 32GB and 64GB and with a micro SD card you can expand the storage up to whopping 128GB, that’s lots of storage.

Conclusion & Availability:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has truly high-end features that you will hardly find in one piece. The incredible features include 4K recording, fastest chipset, ultra-responsive display, latest software, all connectivity options and huge amount of storage. So it has everything which a smartphone can have. These features put this device ahead of many of its competitors.  It’s already up for pre-order on the major US carriers. AT&T expects to ship the device on 2nd October while Verizon will ship the mobile on the 1st of October. No availability information for the unlocked version but it’s expected to hit the shelves on the second week of October.
