Apple has officially announced the next two installments of the iPad Mini and iPad 4. The announced devices are the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Air. Apple has decided to call this installment of the iPad 4 to be iPad Air. The iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Air continues to rock and now these are slimmer and lighter than the previous flagships. But what about the changes inside? Yeah!! These also have faster chips and better displays too or I must say incredible displays.

iPad Mini 2
Just like the original iPad Mini its second installment has a 7.9 inches Retina display with 4:3 aspect ratio. The Retina display has a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, wow that's making a staggering density of 324ppi. So the display is clearly on the dominating side. The new iPad is only 7.5mm thick and weighs 331g, well that's a bit heavy. Moreover the device also lacks TouchID which made a great impact on the market with recently announced iPhone 5S.

Apple Announces the iPad Air and iPad Mini 2

Talking about the internal specs Apple has totally revamped the architecture of the CPU. The previous iPad Mini had an outdated dual-core processor but this time Apple has put their own A7 chip in the device which has Cyclone cores and is quite faster than the previous iPad Mini. Moreover there is also an ultra-fast PowerVR SGX 6th series GPU and an M7 motion co-processor on-board which boosts the graphics performance of the device.

Unsurprisingly the iPad Mini 2 comes with the latest iOS 7 out of the box and offers four color options which include Black, White, Silver and Space Gray. It also offers four storage options 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. There will be two variants of the device Wifi model and 3G LTE model. The base price for the 16GB Wifi model is $399 while the Cellular model will cost $529.

iPad Air
The newly announced iPad Air is the fifth installment of the iPad 4. Apple iPad Air has a totally brand new design and a significantly improved performance. Apple has shaved off the bezels and now the new iPad has incredibly narrow bezels and looks amazingly attractive. The new iPad is only 7.5mm thin and is also quite light weighing only 469g. iPad Air has the same 9.7 inches IPS LCD Retina display with a whooping resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels.

Apple iPad Air

iPad Air also lacks touchID but it has all the power you need. The new iPad is powered by the Apple's A7 chip and the M7 motion co-processor. So just like the design the internal changes are also notable. It offers Silver, Space Gray and White color along with four storage options which include 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Just like the iPad Mini 2 it also has two variants; the 16GB Wifi model will cost only $499 along with 3G model costing $629.

The new iPad will be available from the 1st of November. The changes Apple has made to the design and the processors are quite commendable. I must appreciate how Apple has designed the new iPad; I mean shaving off the bezels is quite a good idea. These two iPads are awesome and are equally powerful to the Asus Nexus 7 (2013). I am quite impressed by the approach of Apple. Stay tuned for more updates.

Recently Microsoft announced the two surface tablets which were incredibly attractive and immensely powerful and now Dell has announced the Dell Venue 11 Pro which is probably sized up against the highly priced Surface Pro 2. Microsoft's Surface Pro 2 is an incredible machine there is no doubt about that but its price is something which will make you think of buying the reasonably priced Dell Venue 11 Pro which is more appealing to price conscious people carrying a price tag of only $550. So Dell Venue 11 Pro has its own benefits. Its other features and specs are discussed below:

Dell Venue 11 Pro

Sharp Display & Incredible Design:
Dell Venue 11 Pro is pretty much similar to the Surface Pro 2. It has a Black body along with rounded corners and moderate size bezel. It offers a 10.8 inches sharp and glossy IPS display which has a stunning resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The back of the device isn't made of an impressive material. The plastic matte made back panel gives you firm grip but lacks the premium feel. Dell Venue 11 Pro lets you work in three different ways. Along with the docking station the tablet can be turned into a laptop. It has a bluetooth keyboard and Dell is offering incredibly slim keyboards with the device.

Internal Specifications:
  • Intel Atom Quad-core Bay Trial CPU
  • 8GB of RAM
  • Up to 256GB of Storage
  • Windows 8.1 out of the Box
  • 8MP Primary Camera
  • Docking Station for a full-fledged PC
  • Removable Battery
  • Efficient Battery Performance

Ease of Sharing & Accessing Content:
The powerful machine lets you run heavy games and desktop programs along with the staggering 8GB of RAM. The machine lets you share data at a frantic pace and with the 256GB of internal storage there's a lot to store. You can easily snap the keyboard into the device and use the machine as a laptop. With the Dell Venue 11 Pro's 8MP camera you can capture and share vivid photos and crystal clear videos. The ultra-fast machine lets you explore the world at an incredible speed.

Dell Venue 11 Pro is powered by Windows 8.1. The machine offers 10 hours of battery life and the battery can also be removed which means that you can easily insert another battery into the machine. So the machine offers a bunch of new innovative features which includes the docking station and the Windows 8.1. Dell Venue 11 Pro looks like a promising device but you have to make your own choice. As I already mentioned above, the machine costs only $550 and is expected to hit the deck on the 7th of November although Dell hasn't confirmed the launch date yet.

Eventually Amazon introduces the new Kindle line-up of tablets. The lineup includes the Kindle Fire HD's 2013 version, Kindle Fire HDX 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. All the three tablets are beautifully engineered and their design is totally changed. All the three tablets run on the new Fire OS. The devices look ambitious and are already available for pre-order. Let's take a look at the devices individually:

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9:
First off talking about the most powerful and intriguing one of the three, the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 packs a massive 8.9 inches IPS LCD display with an unbelievable resolution of 2560 x 1600 that's a pixel density of 339ppi. Moreover the display also offers higher brightness and dynamic image contrast. The display looks outstanding and readily challenges this year's Nexus 7 tablet which made a great impact on the tablet market. Instead of being so big the tablet only weighs 0.82 pounds and is even lighter than the Sony Xperia tablet Z. Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features an overwhelming Quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz. Along with the 2 gigs worth of RAM the device also features the latest Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device runs on the latest Fire OS 3.0.

At the back there is an 8MP snapper which lets you record 1080p videos. The front cam can also record 720p videos. Connectivity options include GPS receiver and optional 4G network while the device lacks Bluetooth connectivity. The device comes with three storage options which include 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively. There is no Micro SD card slot so storage can't be expanded. The Wi-Fi model of the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is expected to hit the shelves on the 7th November while the 4G model will arrive later. The Wi-fi model will cost $380 and the 4G variant has a price tag of $480.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7:
As the name suggests the device has a 7 inches IPS LCD display. Kindle Fire HDX 7 is sized up against this year's Nexus 7 with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 which gives a staggering pixel density of 323ppi. The incredible pixel density lets you see even the smallest details of the content you are watching. As I already mentioned this device also has a changed design. Kindle Fire HDX 7 is only 9mm thick and lacks primary snapper. It only features a front cam. Just like the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, the HDX 7 also has 2.2GHz Quad-core Krait 400 CPU and the same ultra-fast latest Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device offers 2GB RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU which is just enough for high level gaming on the device. The device is bundled with latest Fire OS 3.0 and the device offers 16GB of internal storage (Lacks Micro SD slot) and the 16GB Wifi model will cost only $230 and is expected to ship on October 19. While the 4G variant would cost $330 (Nexus 7 cost $350) and probably hit the market on November 14.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7

Amazon Kindle Fire HD (2013):
Finally we are here to talk about the cheapest of them all. This year's Kindle Fire starts right from the original Kindle Fire HD left. Running on the Fire OS 3.0 the Kindle Fire HD is built around on a 7" inches screen which offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 along with a pixel density of 216ppi. The device is powered by a slightly underwhelming 1.5 GHz Processor along with a 1 GB of RAM. The device is only 10.6mm thick and weighs 345g. The device lacks micro SD slot and offers only two storage options 8GB and 16GB. There is only Wifi connectivity in the device. Kindle Fire HD will be available for the grabs from October 2nd. The 8GB model will cost $140 and the 16GB will cost only $170. Looking at the price tag I would say it’s a marvellous device.

Amazon Kindle Fire 7

All the three devices are extremely well designed and feature fairly enough specifications. The price tags of the devices justify their specs. The manufacturers have provided all the sizes and specs options for the user and you can definitely choose the one which meets your needs. That's all for now stay tunes for more...

Microsoft introduces the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2. In the New York event Microsoft showed the two Surface tablets the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. The company claims that the two new tablets are very strong competitors to all the new laptops and people will think twice of buying any laptop instead of the Surface tablets. Both the tablets are massively sized and are more portable than any laptop. Microsoft said "Re-inventing the wheel is not the goal, making it better is". Other than the size there is a lot inside the devices. Let's see some other features of the devices:

First off talking about the display both the tablets are built around on a 10.6 inches touchscreen and has full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 that's a pixel density of 207ppi. But Microsoft showed how the tablets processed 6K footage using the latest Haswell Processor from Intel. Microsoft also told that using the Ultra-fast processors both the tablets are super-fast and Surface Pro 2 is faster than 95% of the laptops.

Both the tablets have a strong resemblance to their predecessors but these are thicker, lighter and faster all thanks to the magnesium build. This Generation's surface tablets consume less power while working as their battery performance is significantly improved from previous generations. Using a faster chipset the Wifi and memory are also lightning fast. The Surface 2 runs on the Windows 8.1 while the Surface Pro 2 is skinned with Windows 8.1 RT. Microsoft says that the accuracy of the ClearType display is increase by 45 times. The devices also come with an improved Kickstand.

The 5MP camera at the back is enough for shooting crystal clear videos, while the front facing camera got some class. Using a 1/3" sensor, the 3.5MP front cam gives you incredible details of the images you capture. Along with the 2GB RAM the Surface 2 uses Tegra 4 chipset which is just enough for continuous multi-tasking. Using the Dolby Sound enhancement the tablet has two speakers, one on each side.

The Surface Pro 2 uses a dual-core 1.6GHz Processor along with fourth generation Intel Core i5 4200U chipset, 4GB RAM and Intel HD 4400 graphics. Along with the Micro SD card slot the Surface Pro 2 offers 200GB free Skydrive storage for two years. The beautifully designed Surface Pro 2 costs $899 for the 64GB variant, $999 for the 128GB model, $1299 for the 256GB model and $1799 for the 512GB one. I think these prices are for the 4GB variants while the 8GB models will costs $100 more. The 32GB model of the Surface 2 is priced at $450 along with the free 200GB skydrive storage for two years.

Microsoft will ship the devices from 22nd October. Both the tablets are beautiful and sleek and their speed is appreciable. The specifications and the price tags they carry are reasonable. When lighting fast chips meet ultra-responsive display processing becomes smooth. So both the tablets have got reasonable amount of attention are very strong competitors to most of the laptops.

LG has announced the Optimus G Pad 8.3. LG properly introduced the device in the IFA event. The massive tablet has some extra ordinary features which would help the company to fight out the giants already well known in the market like the Samsung Galaxy tab 3. At first look the device looks impressive. Let's explore the device a little:

As the name suggests the LG Optimus G pad 8.3 is built around on a 8.3 inches display and has an Aluminium unibody which feels premium. The display is high-definition and has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with pixel count of 273ppi. The display is vibrant and offers sharp colors. Last year's Nexus 7 tablet made an incredible impact on the market and became the most popular Android tablet. Unsurprisingly Asus again will be manufacturing the second generation of the Nexus 7. People were eager to see next generation of Nexus 7 and now the highly anticipated device is available. This device packs every possible feature in its body and I must say its the most scintillating device I have ever seen. This year's Nexus 7 has a lot to offer and probably it will take the lead from iPad Mini and Amazon Kindle HD.

Design & Display:
This year's Nexus 7 has a lot better design than its predecessor. This Nexus 7 is light, thin and more powerful and its design is more compact and eye catching. The 7 inch display has the highest resolution in a tablet (1920 x 1200). The display is full HD and readily challenges the upcoming iPad Mini. Asus has shaved the edges of the device is order to make it thinner and comfortable. The changes are notable and highly beneficial. The display is the most amazing thing about this device. Carrying so many pixels in your hand feels great. This tablet has 324ppi which eclipses the iPad Mini, Amazon Kindle HD and even the Nexus 10's pixel density. The IPS display make movie watching, web browsing, and gaming more enjoyable. The back panel has no texture, its smooth and has firm grip.

Processing & Capturing:
It uses the Nexus 4's Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and a Quad-core 1.5GHz Krait Processor, so processing becomes immensely fast. The 2GB RAM is more than enough for the high speed gaming and web surfing. The camera department is also revolutionized. This year's Nexus 7 also have a primary sensor. This is what which was missing in the last years Nexus 7. The 1.2MP front facing camera is joined by the 5MP rear cam, which can record things in 1080p resolution at 30 fps. The inclusion of the primary camera will immensely help the sales of the users and you have to make zero compromises with the device. So this is a very beneficial step.
