The financial condition of the company isn't looking good at the time but with a very small loss in the last quarter shows that Blackberry can still make a comback. This time around Blackberry has launched a very unusual device, the Blackberry Passport.

Blackberry Passport has a very interesting design. The design can attract some people but can also offend some people, but I like the approach of Blackberry of giving us something to think about. Blackberry Passport has the most powerful hardware Blackberry has ever produced. The Blackberry Passport has a very big 4.5" display and also has a physical QWERTY keypad. This is the design you don't see most often. The 4.5" LCD is covered by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a resolution of 1440 x 1440 which makes an insane pixel density of 453ppi.

The display isn't all, it also has a very powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC along with a 2.2 GHz processor having 4 cores. Moreover it also packs the latest Adreno 330 GPU and a 3 gigs of RAM. The camera department is also revolutionized. There is a 13MP rear camera which has Optical Image Stabilization and can shoot 1080p videos at 60 fps. The 2MP front camera comes with fixed focus.

Blackberry Passport comes with a 32GB of in-built storage and also has Micro SD card slot. On the connectivity side the device has the LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and also the NFC. Blackberry Passport supports only nano-SIMs. It has a 3450 mAh battery and Blackberry's CEO says that it has a battery life of 36 hours, that's insane. The passport runs on the latest Blackberry OS 10.3.

The device is already available in Canada and UK. It costs only $200 on a two year contract until 1 October in Canada, after that it'll cost $250. Blackberry Passport will also be landing in 30 more countries in the upcoming few weeks and the price for the unlocked variant is $699.

The internal storage is said to be 8GB and Micro SD card slot availability is unknown. It features a 5MP shooter at the back and a 1.1MP at the front. On the other hand the Q20 has the traditional Blackberry QWERTY keypad along with a 3.5" display and a trackpad and is said to provide the best email experience. According to Blackberry the device is made up of premium material and is said to be very durable. Regarding the Q20 John Chen also said that:

"In my first 90 days on the job, I consistently heard from our ardent BlackBerry customers that the hard buttons and trackpad are an essential part of the BlackBerry QWERTY experience, that made their BlackBerry smartphone their go-to productivity tool. I want these customers to know that we heard them, and this new smartphone will be for them. Today, we’re delighted to announce the new BlackBerry Q20 smartphone, which is designed to give you the distinct experience that every BlackBerry QWERTY loyalist and high-productivity business customer absolutely loves. With the BlackBerry Q20 smartphone, you’ll get the familiar hard buttons and trackpad that you want, along with the best email service, the best keyboard experience and the best battery life possible"

That's all for now from the center we'll keep you posted if anything new comes up about the availability of the two devices.

Blackberry is a well reputed mobile manufacturer. They are known for their services, but in the past few months the company is going through a tough time. A couple of days ago we heard the news of Blackberry cutting off 4,500 employees with an expected loss of $1 billion in the second quarter. So, things are just not going good for the Canadian Company. Today we are hearing the news of Blackberry getting a sale out offer from Fairfax Financial.

The deal is expected to sum up at a price of $4.7 billion. Blackberry required a time frame of six weeks and the final deal is expected to be signed on 4th of November. Blackberry would also look for any other better offers. According to the deal offered by Fairfax Financial, Blackberry shareholders will receive $9 for each share.

Earlier this year Blackberry tried to make a comeback with their new BB10 OS but things aren't as simple as Blackberry would have thought. Blackberry lost 94% of their value in the past few years. In the meantime Android and iOS reached the pinnacle of success and competition became even tough.

Moreover after being delayed so many times Blackberry Z10 joined the party too late and company continued to slump. Anyways Blackberry will continue to look for alternative deals but this one is more likely to pass out.

Recently Blackberry announced an old fashioned device, the Blackberry 9720. The device is already available from an online retailer in the UK. Blackberry has lost a lot of its market share in the recent couple of years and people are more eager to see a developed an open source OS like Android, iOS and even the Windows 8. But still Blackberry has a reputation in the market and is well known for its services. The Canadian company can still fight out these situations, but they are doing things very late. They have to bring a revolutionary change in the OS. Devices like these are not going to help the company any more.

Anyways the Blackberry 9720 is powered by the Blackberry 7.1 OS. The device features a 2.8 inches touchscreen IPS display which has a low resolution of 480 x 360. The hardware includes the traditional Blackberry keyboard, an Optical trackpad and a BBM key. The processor is clocked at 800MHz together with 512MB of RAM. The capturing is controlled by a 5MP primary camera with no front cam included. It offers 512MB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB with the help micro SD card. In the connectivity category the device offers 3G and Wifi only and features a micro SIM slot. The device is powered by a 1450 mAh battery.

The specs above shows that this an entry level device which deals with only ordinary needs. We have already seen these type of devices from Blackberry. The device costs only £180 in the UK. It is available in Black, White, Purple, Blue and Pure Pink. So definitely you get different color options with the Blackberry 9720.
