Motorola has wrapped off the covers from the Moto G. The device
has the same profile as the Motorola Moto X had. Moto G is a budget device with
an attractive price tag of $179 and I think it is the best device in this price
range. In spite of having such a low price tag if offers some incredible high
end specifications.
Motorola Moto G is built around a 4.5 inches display and uses the
latest Gorilla Glass 3 for the protection. The inside of the device is covered
by nano coating which is water resistant. Other than the display it packs a
Cortex A7 Quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and uses the Snapdragon 400
SoC. Moreover there is also a 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU inside. Motorola
Moto G is bundled with the Android 4.3 but Motorola said that the device will
surely get Android Kitkat 4.4 in January 2014.
Motorola Moto G has a 5MP shooter at its back capable of shooting
720p videos along with an LED flash located right below the camera. At the
front there is a 1.3MP secondary camera which helps in video calling. There is
a 1950 mAh battery under the removable back panel and Motorola claims that it
has a better battery life like the iPhone 5S. Motorola has worked very hard on
the software of the device and the device boots up quickly and is quite fast in
doing small tasks.
There are only two storage options 8GB and 16GB without any memory
expansion. The 8GB model costs only $179 while the 16GB model has a price tag
of $199. It is already available in Brazil and some parts of Europe. Motorola
says that soon the device will be launched in more than 90 countries and it will
also have a dual-sim version. The device will be launched in colorful back
panels like Pink, Blue, Yellow, Black, White and Red.
