The most awaited device of the month just went official. The Motorola Moto X. We all know that Google bought the Motorola company and people were eager to see what Google is up to. This is the first device of Motorola which is completely assembled in the USA under the supervision of Google. After so much assumptions and leaks being made by the people all over the Glob I would say that most of the rumors came true.

Motorola Moto X
Display & Design:
Motorola Moto X features a seamless 4.7″ RGB AMOLED 720p display and has a pixel density of 316ppi. One more interesting thing is the unique Gorilla Glass technology for the display is curved. This Glass has two layers for the curve of the device. The display uses RGB matrix technology which gives a sharp color and contrast. The company has put a lot of effort on the back panel to make it comfortable. It comes in two colors Black and White, but the interesting thing is that you can get 18 more back panels of different colors. The back panel is built with high quality plastic. You can also ask the company for the text or wallpaper to come pre-installed on the back of the device. Also you can choose whether the front should be black or white. This shows the device is highly customizable. Both the display and design gives the device a premium look, so its eminent to compare the device with the HTC One.
Processing & Capturing:
The device is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait processor together with custom-built Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System based on the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. It also has two extra processors for specialized tasks. The 2GB RAM gives insane speed to carry out heavy tasks. The graphics are controlled by Adreno 320 GPU. The camera is beyond everything else and is one of the most greatest piece used. The camera has some scintillating features. The 10MP primary sensor can record things in 1080p resolution at 30fps. Other capturing goodies include HDR mode, Burst shot, Panorama mode. Another unique feature is the Quick capture, which allows you to to activate the camera with double twist of your hand. The camera uses a new technology, ClearPixel which lets you add 75% more light to the camera sensor helping low light imaging. A 2MP front cam serves the video chat. So this department is also revolutionized to some extent.
OS & Storage:
The device comes with almost stock Android 4.2.2, with some of new Motorola features. The version could have been 4.3 as it’s already launched, so it’s a touch disappointing. Motorola also added the Active Display feature to the display which uses the OLED screen and shows a snippet of information on the Blank Black screen such as messages, time and voice call. You can call it as the Android version of Nokia’s Glance screen feature. The device also comes with pre-installed transfer app called Migrate. This app allows you transfer contacts, texts, photos, videos from another Android. The device has two storage options 16GB and 32GB. The device lacks micro SD slot. The juice for the device is provided by a 2200 mAh battery chipping below the back panel.
Connectivity & Availability:
Apart from the 3G connectivity the device also have 4G LTE connectivity and has support only for nano-Sim. The device also supports NFC and MicroUSB. Most of the Carriers would be offering the device, such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. The base price for the 16GB model is 200$ and 250$ for the 32GB version with two-year contract. Google also announced that the Moto X will also be sold through Play store. Its availability date hasn’t confirmed yet, but its carrier free version will cost 575$ for the 16GB variant. This is all for now stay tuned for more updates…
