A waterproof smartphone, that's what LG has to offer now. It has become a trend now to produce waterproof smartphones this year. Sony set this trend with their highly anticipated device Xperia Z, then Samsung responded to them and quickly launched Galaxy S4 Active. LG not to be outdone either. It has became a requirement of smartphones now. Let's have a look at its other features.

Display & Design:
The LG Optimus GJ is having a 4.7" True HD-IPS Display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 (312ppi). Also it doesn't have Gorilla Glass. So the display is ordinary as per as nowadays standards. The display performance of the device in the outdoor is very disappointing. The built quality and the design is followed by the Optimus G. The back panel and the battery is user accessible. But in order to make the device waterproof LG has to shed LTE, NFC and Radio antennas. The IPX-7 certified device can go down up to 1 meter in the water for 30min.

Processing & Camera:
Optimus GJ features a Quad-core 1.5GHz Krait CPU bundled together with a Adreno 320 GPU and a 2GB of RAM. In the capturing department the 13MP primary sensor has a very ordinary and unimpressive performance. Its performance is marginally better than 8MP shooters. LG could have done better with it. Anyways there are good things about the camera as well. Camera has intelligent Auto, VR Panoramas, Time catch shot, smart shutter, OIS and LED flash. Also has a 1.3MP front cam.

Software, Storage & Conclusion:
Just like the hardware the internals are also followed by the Optimus G. The Optimus GJ is running Android 4.1.2 together with the Optimus UI 3.0. It has multi-tasking with mini apps and app window transparency. So there aren't any notable changes in the software.Coming on the storage, LG has managed to put a Micro SD slot on the device, however its on board storage is 16GB. The device is already available in the market for 480 euros. You all will be wondering why would LG produce a device like this which can't go head to head with other powerful devices having underwhelming processor and an ordinary camera and design. The answer is LG's flagship device G2 is now weeks away from its launch. After the launch of the device the Optimus GJ will slip into the mid-range territory and would become the most affordable and powerful IPX-7 certified device in its range. So LG is playing smart here....
