Samsung made the official announcement of the Galaxy S5 Mini a
couple of days ago. The mini versions continue to grow as this device has a
slightly bigger display than its predecessor. GS5 mini has the same design as
the original GS5 has but it has some ordinary specs and a small 4.5"
display. Nevertheless the GS5 Mini has all the sensors which are found in the
GS5.
First off the Galaxy S5 mini is built around on a 4.5" 720p
Super AMOLED display which has descent pixel density of 326ppi. Another
impressive thing is that the device has all the sensors on board which its
bigger sibling has like the finger print senor and the heart rate monitor at
the back. Moreover the GS5 mini also repels dust and can be submerged into 1
meter of water for half an hour. Under the hood there is 1.4GHz Quad-core
Cortex A7 CPU along with 1.5GB of RAM. The GS5 mini will boot the Android KitKat
4.4 out of the box and would offer some new features like Private mode, Kids
mode, Ultra power saving mode etc. On the capturing side the GS5 mini has the same 8MP camera which
allows you capture 1080p videos. It also has some advance camera features just
like the GS5. Under the leather back there is a 2100 mAh battery.
Galaxy S5 mini also has 4G LTE connectivity and IR blaster. On the
storage side there is 16GB in-built storage along with a micro SD card slot. It
will be available in four colors; Black, White, Blue and Copper Gold. According
to an unconfirmed report the device will cost €479 and will be available in early July.
You can also expect a dual-sim variant of the device.
