Finally Microsoft released the much anticipated update of the Windows platform. The new update brings tons of news changes to the OS that are clearly noticeable but Microsoft kept the same UI of the operating system. Still the OS is more touch friendly and is hard to use without touchscreen. Microsoft has improved the start button and most of the problems are fixed. Moreover the update is absolutely free for the existing Windows 8 users, so that's a plus.

What's New?
Windows 8.1 brings the Snap view which can accommodate more apps and is much easier to use. Microsoft has also tried to improve the app store but the it still lacks useful software and heavy games. As I already mentioned the UI changes are quite minor however the 8.1 update brings the different sizes to the tiles. One more important thing about the update is the traditional direct desktop boot. Now the PC directly boots into the desktop rather than showing the tiles view. Moreover the start button also brings some of the old features back to the Windows 8.1.

One more important thing about the update is the much improved search engine. This new version searches through everything, the cloud files, the skydrive, the apps and the content. You can easily watch movies and play games on Xbox. With the help of Skydrive you can easily access your files everywhere. I must say Microsoft has done very well in making the search engine as seamless as it could be.

So if you hated the UI of the previous OS this update won't change anythings. However the new update let's you browse pretty easily if you have a touch screen. If you already have Windows 8 running on your PC you would receive a notification to upgrade the Window and might be prompted to visit the Microsoft's store. So if you have already use Windows 8 should upgrade to Windows 8.1 without a doubt.
