Apple announced the new iPhone with the 64-bit chip just a couple of days ago. Samsung responded to the move very quickly. Samsung's CEO JK Shin said that our next smartphone would feature 64-bit processor. Actually Samsung wasn't expecting Apple to launch the device with such chip. Now Samsung have to work very hard in order to prepare their own chip. Most probably Samsung will use the chip it its upcoming flagship device Samsung Galaxy S5 which is expected to make the appearance in 2014.

Apple did optimize their iOS 7 to support the functionality while Android can't support such thing, at least not now. You can expect the upcoming Android version which is KitKat 4.4 to support such a chip. This move shows the heat of the situation. People can also expect 4GB RAM in the upcoming Samsung flagship. Is this the beginning of a new war between smartphones?
