Sharp Display & Sleek Design
Samsung Ativ Book 9 has a 13.3 inches touchscreen 1080p IPS
display. Nowadays the ultra-high resolution is becoming very common, it’s a
must have feature for a premium laptop. But the Samsung Ativ Book 9 has a
maximum resolution of 3200 x 1200 which gives the device a phenomenal pixel
density which beats all the laptops in pixel count race. The Book 9 plus is far
better than the old Book 9 but still the design of both the laptops are very
similar to each other. The stunning design still looks great and premium. The
silver edges and the gun-metal blue outside looks simply awesome. Samsung Ativ
9 weighs only 3.2 pounds which is a bit heavy than the old Book 9 but it’s thicker.
Fast and Superior Performance
Samsung Ativ Book 9 is stuffed inside with the latest Haswell
fourth generation Intel core i5 processor clocked at a speed of 1.6GHz. The
machine is pretty fast and has significantly improved battery performance, as
we all know Haswell processor improves battery performance. The battery timing
of the machine is appreciable and Samsung claims that it can give upto 11 hours
of battery life. There is also an Intel HD 4400 graphics processor under the
skin which produces stunning graphics and smooth performance. There is a 4GB of
RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The machine is powered by the standard
Windows 8. Samsung Ativ Book 9 plus is a great machine and is one of the
greatest Ultra-Books of all time. It looks like it is the improved version of
Book 9.
The machine features an HDMI port, two full USB 3.0 ports and a
VGA video-out port. The speakers in the machine deliver decent sound
performance. The camera at the front of the laptop is also quite nice. It
allows you capture 720p videos. Samsung Ativ Book 9 plus uses a Blacklit
keyboard and a wide touch pad. The clickable touch pad is quite impressive and
ultra-responsive along with lots of multifinger gestures.
Just like recent Samsung laptops this machine also features the
SideSync feature which allows you to show your Samsung smartphone on the PC.
You can monitor your calls and notifications through SideSync and you can even
use the apps. Samsung Ativ Book 9 plus is an excellent laptop but it cost a
little more than others. It has a price tag of $1,399 which is even more than
the Macbook Air 13 which cost $1,099.
